Pope Francis has proclaimed a “Year of St. Joseph” from December 8, 2020—December 8, 2021. During this time after Christmas and with the beginning of the New Year 2021, let us devote more time to St. Joseph, Patron of the Universal Church and the head of the Holy Family and a role model for our families. May the beautiful statue of St. Joseph in our church remind you about the importance of having a family and within the family to have a father. May the Holy Family and St. Joseph protect you.
In light of the continued spread of the coronavirus in southeast Michigan and the impossibility for parishes to safely accommodate all Catholics for Mass on Sundays, Archbishop Vigneron has extended the dispensation from the obligation to attend Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation for all the faithful in the Archdiocese of Detroit, as well as for all travelers during their time within the territory of the Archdiocese of Detroit, until Ash Wednesday, February 17, 2021.
Every evening at 7:00 pm, tune in to our YouTube channel for an Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, prayers for an end to the pandemic and many other intentions, a full Rosary, prayers to our Guardian Angels and St. Michael, and a Chaplet of Divine Mercy. Our YouTube channel is stfaustina.tv
The Catholic Services Appeal is essential to the mission of the Archdiocese of Detroit. It funds and supports more than 170 ministries that serve the local Church in southeast Michigan, including Detroit Catholic. Although the Catholic Services Appeal 2020 is later than normal due to the coronavirus epidemic, a CSA letter and pledge envelope was mailed to registered donors. Our parish is assessed a CSA target goal. If we fail to reach the goal, the parish must pay the difference which is something we wish to avoid. Help us by supporting CSA. You may mail your pledge to: Archdiocese of Detroit, PO Box 44077, Detroit, MI 48244-9935. Or you may send your pledge via the internet at: www.givecsa.org . We are grateful for your generous support and for your prayers.
